Amity adalah salah satu dari lima faksi di dunia Divergent. Amity berdedikasi untuk kedamaian, kebaikan, pengampunan, kepercayaan, kemandirian, dan netralitas. Amity dibentuk oleh orang-orang yang menyalahkan  sifat buruk manusia sebagai penyebab perang dan pertempuran. Substansi Amity dalam Choosing Ceremony adalah tanah, yang merupakan simbol dari pertanian yang mereka lakukan untuk menghidupi seluruh faksi. Amity adalah sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan persahabatan, harmoni, kedamaian, saling pengertian, hubungan yang damai, kesepakatan, dan keramahan.

 

Para Amity mencintai musik, seni, permainan, dan tawa. Mereka memberikan pelukan saat menyapa satu sama lain. Biasanya mereka memakai pakaian berwarna warni dan biasanya terdiri dari warna kuning dan hijau. Amity adalah faksi yang tidak menyukai perang dan konflik. Amity menempatkan kedamaian dan harmoni diatas segalanya. Anggota Amity adalah orang-orang bahagia, bersedia untuk melayani, namun tidak seperti Abnegation. 

 

Fakta Amity : 

 

• Amity merupakan faksi dengan kehidupan paling nyaman dan tenang dibanding faksi lain. 

• Amity menggunakan serum kedamaian yang dioleskan ke roti yang mereka santap. Serum itu dapat menjaga perasaan seseorang agar tetap damai dan rileks.

• Amity memakai sapaan "Go with happiness" setiap kali mereka bertemu untuk makan atau berpapasan satu sama lain. 

• Sikap Amity yang netral dan cinta damai membuat mereka kerapkali menjadi tempat perlindungan ketika terjadi percecokan di antara faksi lain. 

• Memiliki nama panggilan dari Dauntless yaitu "pansy cake" dan "banjo strumming softies" .

• Sangat menyukai seni. Amity adalah sumber dan pusat hiburan bagi faksi lain. 

• Amity senang tinggal di wilayah yang damai dengan banyak rerumputan segar dan di tepi hutan, di mana mereka bisa merasakan kedamaian dan harmoni. Biasanya rumah mereka terbuat dari kayu dan dihiasi oleh pernak pernik yang unik. 

• Makanan Amity beragam dan selalu bergizi daripada faksi lain.

• Amity suka makan, suka beternak, mengolah pertanian.

• Lambang Amity yang berbentuk pohon mewakili kedamaian dan hasil tanah yang mereka garap.

“Because he demanded something of me, and I would not give it to him.”
“Why did you not give it to him?”
“Because it was mine.”
“My son, you now have your possessions, but you do not have your friend. Which would you rather have?”
“My friend.”
“Then give freely, trusting that you will also be given what you need.”

A Daughter says to her Father:

“Father, today I fought with my friend.”
Her Father says: “Why did you fight with your friend?”
“Because she insulted me, and I was angry.”
“Why were you so angry?”
“Because she lied about me.” (In some versions: “Because I was hurt by her words.”)
“My daughter, did your friend’s words change who you are?”
“No.”
“Then do not be angry. The opinions of others cannot damage you.”

 

Forgiveness

“Wife, today I fought with my enemy.”
His Wife says: “Why did you fight with your enemy?”
“Because I hate him.”
“My husband, why do you hate him?”
“Because he wronged me.”
“The wrong is past. You must let it rest where it lies.”

 

Kindness

A Wife says to her Husband:

“Husband, today I fought with my enemy.”
Her Husband says: "Why did you fight with your enemy?”"
“Because I spoke cruel words to her.”
“My wife, why did you speak cruel words to her?”
“Because I believed them to be true.”
“Then you must no longer think cruel thoughts. Cruel thoughts lead to cruel words, and hurt you as much as they hurt their target.”

Beliefs

​

Amity people value peace and kindness as well as blame conflict and hatred for the world's problems. People of Amity value neutrality, so they remain neutral in times of war. In Amity, as opposed to Candor, believe that is acceptable to lie in order to keep the peace.

​
